Université de La Rochelle

Angeline Abgrall is a second-year Master's student in Digital Law, specializing in Trusted Third Parties and Digital Security, at the University of La Rochelle, and is completing her end-of-studies internship at the Cyberjustice Laboratory. She began her academic career with a bachelor's degree in law and a master's degree in fundamental private law at the University of Rennes 1. During her master's degree, she wrote her master's thesis on the place of individual will within a person's identity. She then continued her studies with a Master's degree in Digital Law at La Rochelle, during which she deepened her knowledge of new technology law by writing a master's thesis on the balance between privacy and freedom of expression through the French right to be forgotten ante mortem and post mortem.

She is particularly interested in the way in which digital technology is transforming power relations, spaces for expression, and mechanisms for protecting rights. In her view, the contemporary challenge is not to oppose freedom and technology, but to imagine a digital world that serves freedom, based on responsibility, transparency, and the effective protection of fundamental rights.
